Choosing uPVC Replacement Window Handles
Window handles are a fundamental part of your uPVC windows and must match to the frame. The size of the spindle determines if the new uPVC handles will fit.

Espag Handle
Espag handles are commonly found on upvc (but they're also used in timber and aluminum). The handles are square with a spindle that extends out from the handle's back and locks into the multi-point locking mechanism on the window. Cockspur Handle
The Cockspur Window Handle was developed for manufacturers who wish to offer their customers an elegant and premium design. These handles can be used with either uPVC or aluminium windows. They work by having a spur on the handle that is secured over the edge of the frame to secure the window. The window handle can be locked so that it only opens when pushed, offering extra security. The handle is available in five different finishes, in both left and right handed. This allows the fabricators to cater for more windows.
These cockspur window handles are provided with 3 packing pieces of different thickness, allowing them to be adjusted for a wide range of backset sizes. Each piece fits snugly beneath the handle's nose and can be removed or inserted into the dimensions of the step to create a different backset which ranges from 9mm up to 21mm. The handle is available in right and left handed versions with straight or curved noses.
